Draining engine oil.

Anybody know the size of the thread for the oil drain plug? I have had these before and they worked flawlwessly.

Yeah it’s a good way on the D4 (didn’t realize this was on “that side”)

But on D3 (and particularly on my V8) it’s rather messy letting gravity work Mr. Green

I have a pump , which I’m yet to try using. Believe it’s the Sealey type. My Indy says they use a piece of brake hose to connect their pump to the oil suction pipe. Anyone know the size of hose required and best place to get it?

Theres every chance your pump will have the right size connector with it as most have a selection of sizes .

I always like to get underneath and take the cover off to take a look when servicing so remove the drain plug to drain on my D4 as well as my D3.
The design of the D4 sump means oil goes everywhere if you aren’t prepared for it - I use a large milk container with a hole cut in the side to deflect the flow to stop it going everywhere.
 Must stop buying shiny toys....

Thanks popsdosh, will check .
I get mine indy serviced every year but last year it called for an interim oil change due a summer of shorter journeys.
I can now ( easily?!) do a late year oil change myself. I have their full method written down , thanks to their help.

Just 'cause you got the power... that don't mean you got the right.
