Puddle Lights
Hi All,
I fitted 4 LR logo puddle projector lights a couple of years ago and 3 have now stopped working (driver's door, rear driver's door, passenger rear door), front passenger door works so I bought 4 replacements.
On replacing the driver's door I noticed it still doesn't work so tried the working one and that doesn't work either.
Any thoughts as to why 3 don't work but 1 does?
TIA,

LED puddle lights? Could never get the front ones working on my D4, regardless of which way I put them in thinking it was a polarity issue. No problem on the D3 though,

All 4 worked great for 2 years, don't think fuse as 1 still works unless each door is on a separate fuse2011 Discovery 4 XS in Fuji White

For me, they worked on light bulbs, when I changed to LEDs, they stopped working in one door, they don't work in others, now I have a constant error "that there is a short-circuit positive to ground"
I think that when inserting the leds I confused the polarity and this caused damage to the module responsible for this light.
All others work

UPDATE
So I removed all of the projection lights and refitted the original bulb fittings and all worked OK proving that there is power to them, then reconnected the new projection fittings with the additional wires and all are working as they should.
Don't know whether it was putting the bulbs back in or adding the additional wires which may have an inbuilt resistor in the connection but not going to take apart again to find out.
I will post images of the logos when dark enough2011 Discovery 4 XS in Fuji White

This is also my issue. First world problem I know but it is irritating. Will be buying 4 bulbs....

If you have standard bulbs read no further (although a faulty bulb is possible I ’spose).
I changed my LR bulbs for LED bulbs from the bay. Excellent performance until the driver’s door stopped working. The other 3 doors fine. I tried a new LED bulb but no change. No supply to the bulb holder was the problem. The solution was to refit standard filament bulbs, lock the car and return after it had shut down. All doors fine now. The LED’s were upsetting some parameter somewhere and one door not working was the result. Technology ‘eh...
I did like the vastly improved performance of the LED’s so am going to try a different style/make. Will report back.
