Dot 4 or Dot 4 ESP?

I think the original spec says “Shell DOT4 ESL”. This translates to DOT4 ESP or DOT4 LV. They’re all equivalent.
If you need a brand, I’ve used Brembo DOT4 LV but that is because it is cheap and seems to always be available at the local motor market.

I’m getting ready to change brake hoses and flush the system. I started looking for Dot4 LV or similar and most local motor factors have never heard of it. Do other brands require it as I’d imagine most vehicles these days have ESP fitted? I have a local millers oils distributer who is always very helpful so he is trying to get me some Millers LV.

I’m probably not the right guy to answer this as you’re in England and I’m not but in Finland one can get LV at any motonet store. So roughly equivalent to Halfords over there.
