4 Wheel Alignment!, Anyone used Oval Autos Cradley.

Looking to get 4 wheel Alignment done , Just wondering if anyone else has used Oval Autos in Cradley Heath? As this is local to me and throughout my discovery ownership I’ve never had anything done here but understand they do 4 wheel alignment and will recalibrate as necessary so I’m let to believe? I’ve also contacted another local place which were recommended but doesn’t do the recalibrating, They said the motor doesn’t always need it ? What’s thoughts on this? As from what I’ve read it’s essential

Oval are certainly well thought of, as a search here will reveal.

proper 4 wheel alignment on a D4 (cant speak for D3) is probably best advised to get done on an annual basis from what im led to believe.
I got mine done at a local kwik fit with no problems but glad i did as the rear alignment was quite a bit out.

Ive used Oval a long long time ago for services on my first LR, a FL1 as my brother had used them for his 2 defenders. IIRC they are all ex LR techs orginally from back in the day so they have more of a passion for the product rather than going to the generic workshop guys at LR main dealers these days.

I am a strong supporter of Hunter for wheel alignment:-

My experience with Kwik Fit in this respect was not good, but I understand that they are now replacing their wheel alignment kit with Hunter kit so things may improve.

+1 for Hunter and I'll await others on here using Kwik fit and reviewing them positively before I do again...

Thanks for reply’s, Spoke to them yesterday but never asked if it was the Hunter system, I’ve read a lot of previous alignment posts on here and seems like Hunters the best option, What’s thoughts on the recalibration? As anyone had it done without it being recalibrated? Any issues? I Read an old post a few nights back saying it was essential to recalibrate.

What do you mean by recalibration?

Ah ok, thanks. I've had the hunter alignment done several times and never had the recalibration done as far as I'm aware... no issues either that I'm aware of.

Ok thanks, That’s good to know, I’ve read a couple of old posts that said it was essential? What’s anyone else’s thoughts?

If the tracking and geometry is done properly, so the steering wheel is still straight when driving straight, recalibration of the steering angle sensor may not be required. Assuming the steering wheel was straight before! Thumbs Up

Steering wheel isn’t straight at mo, Think it’s due to the bottom arms being done, Also the steering isn’t spinning back as good as I’d like , I know it’s a heavy car but one of the first things I noticed on the test drive
