Aftermarket rearview camera

Hi all.

I have an aftermarket touchscreen headunit and would like to fit a reversing camera. I've done it before in other vehicles and completely understand the process.

My question on the D3 is where to get the reverse signal from. Normally I'd use the reversing lights, but the camera goes in the tailgate handle and was hoping to avoid wiring all the way around it and into the lights for reverse signal. Is there a harness or cable in there that gives me rev signal for D3 S trim?

I've looked for this in the forum prior to posting but I believe people typically go for the 'proper' solution with the stock headunit, etc, and can't find info on the wiring itself.

Thank you

The passenger side rear cubby box, maybe slightly easier.

Dark green in the LH quarter panel, I think I found it. Thank you. Will have a go this weekend.

Hello again. After a few weeks of prioritising other stuff in the Disco, I got to work on the camera. Wiring was easy enough and tested that it works.

The problem now is how to pass the cables through the rubber conduits behind the upper tailgate (liftgate). It seems the existing cables have used up all the available space. In addition to them being curved which in itself can make things difficult.

Any tips on how to accomplish this?

I can't help sorry. I fitted it on a range rover, so only had the choice of 1 that led to the glass.

I had to cut off the yellow plug and solder it back up again.

I’ve fed wire that way.

Basically carefully remove both ends of the rubber tube from the body work and feed the wire through. You need to be a bit brutal.

I may have used a crochet hook or similar to do this, simply attaching the wire end to the top of it. Worked for me is all I can say.

Thereafter I worked the wire down the side and into the area you want.

A length of nylon strimmer line, tape the wire to it and pull it through
