Hello,

I'm having issues with the injectors on my 2007 Land Rover Discovery 3, equipped with a 2.7L diesel engine, and unfortunately, I don't know which one is malfunctioning. At idle, the readings show different values, but when I accelerate, they all reach 1000. Can anyone assist me in identifying which injectors need to be replaced? Additionally, when I stand in front of the engine, I have three injectors on the left and three on the right. Can someone explain the cylinder order and which injector is numbered from 1 to 6 in case I need to replace them individually, as this is still unclear to me. Is there perhaps a diagram that clearly shows this? Thank you in advance for your help.

Believe that the injector values can only be compared at idle with the engine warmed up.
 Series one 1949 - in bits, chassis is strapped to the ceiling in my garage (beside the canoe)
LR 90 - In bits
Disco 3 - currently in bits

As said, look at the values at idle.

To make matters worse, injectors are numbered differently to cylinders Rolling with laughter

I think you replace one first, and then re-measure (maybe a few days later even)

Hello, I had an issue where the engine wouldn't start at all initially. After replacing an injector, it started, but there's heavy smoke from the rear when it's cold. Also, the engine runs unevenly in cold conditions, but once it warms up, it operates smoothly. The readings were taken at idle, and the oil temperature was around 40 degrees Celsius.

It needs to be warm. Go for a drive and get your oil to the normal 85C, then look at your injector balance at idle.

Hello, I brought the engine to 85 degrees. See the data in the picture. The strange thing is that various errors occurred today, and after I went to the car wash, it didn't start afterward. I also don't know what's wrong with the car. I am currently speechless.

I was able to read these errors with the IID tool:

- P02A1-00 (2F) Cylinder 2 balance - injector leaking

- P0269-00 (2F) Cylinder 3 contribution/balance

- P0278-00 (2F) Cylinder 6 contribution/balance

- Pa020C-33 (27) Cylinder 3 injection timing - Frequency modulation/pulse width modulation failure -
signal low time> maximum


And these were the last errors after the car wash:

- P0269-00 (6C) Cylinder 3 contribution/balance

I would change injector 6 first then check them again after afew days once the replacement has settled in
Keep the old injectors and get them tested
If you find one is good, swop out the one that looks like a bad one and see what happens whilst the thought bad injector is being checked
Only my opinion
Others with abit more will be here to help
 Metal auto sump & fluid change (3 hrs)
LR door puddle projectors (10 mins)
Tinted Bonnet wind deflector (10 mins)
All Intercooler pipes and Tbolts (2hrs)
3 injectors replaced so far (30mins)
Sunroof drain pipes both sides 2.5 hrs)
Rear discs, shoes,pads,callipers,flexi hoses, rigid brake line, n/s upper hub carrier bush and rear n/s upper arm (13hrs over 2 days)

Hello everyone. Need some advise.
I recently got an overhaul done on my discovery 3 2.7.
The engine started off well however the car lacked power so was told there is an issue with the nozzles/injectors and got em tested to find one had a back leak. Replaced one with a used one and the car was fine but then unrelated skipped timing during a test drive. Got the belt and tensioner replaced.
Now i have an issue with hard start in the mornings. Sometimes it would start after a few tries and sometimes would have to disconnect injector 1 to get it started and let the engine warm up so that i can turn it off and reconnect injector 1 and restart the car but with white smoke all over until i hit the highway. After that the car starts off fine throughout the day.
Have this code pop up sometimes since the overhaul. P0336-66 Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor A circuit range/performance.
And during the hard start various codes start coming on and off like Cylinder 5 Contribution/Balance or Cylinder 6 etc.
My offset readings of the injectors are below,
Should i go ahead with replacing the injectors 1,2 and 5 or should i look at the CKP first? Can the injectors cause the CKP fault?

Are the injectors numbered differently than the cylinders? Need help
