Handbrake travel

When I apply my EPB my car travels forwards by a good 6 to 8 inches then stops.

Is it supposed to keep the car still, not move at all?

Use whilst reversing slowly a couple of times and see if it fixes it.

as I understand it, it's a clever unit that senses movement and applies itself a bit harder if it's not stopped you moving (it applies harder in low box too). I had it ages ago when I had a lot of traffic on the route home and it would get applied frequently ... but there was one part of the route that had a gentle slope and it behaved as yours does if I applied it there. I did the "in reverse" thing to see if it shifted any crud from the mechanism and it seemed to work.

Won't cost you anything to try !
