Interested to hear what you mean by both ground wires

If you look at the wiring diagram for the aux plug (red/black) there are 4 wires to it, left, right, and 2 grounds. I think joining the grounds might have the same effect as leaving a cable plugged into the rear 3.5mm socket.

Need a bit of help on this one.

I wanted to add an Aux input socket at the front of car for Spotify etc. (I have one on rear passenger console) so having read numerous articles, YouTube etc. I located connector block at rear of head unit and tee'ed into the red, blue and black wires, connected to Aux socket, which I located at bottom of centre trim......!

It works, but only just, very quiet even though I've played through a booster App on my Android phone. Any ideas? I am thinking my ground wire (the black one) is wrong but not sure what to do next?

The Disco is HSE with the Harman Kardon unit

Another option (now you've done all the hard work and I'm not getting the wrong end of the stick) is to get a bluetooth receiver to Aux, and plug that into the rear Aux in. That way you can play directly from your phone over bluetooth, saving the inevitable faff when you change your phone to a newer model without a headphone socket.

The BT adapter will need a power source, so I use a cigarette lighter USB adapter.

Personally I bought a pre made radio loom that had the added aux socket already incorporated which was just plug and play, carefully installed the 3.5mm aux into the centre dashboard

Hope that may also help

Great thanks. I've tried searching the usual places too, but couldn't find anything either.
I've found a similar bracket for the usb outlets for £30 on ebay although I think Paddock had one the same as yours, but the manufacturer have stopped trading.

Cheers

Ur so welcome and that makes sense if theyve stopped trading , so spent some more time going through all my saved pictures and came across these , alas not 100% but wished to at least share the link in case it’s useful

https://www.incarconnections.co.uk/land-ro...-ipod.html

Plus found some more pics of the loom I fitted to see if it matches the other looms

Also found this link, it looks like the 3.5mm socket isn’t fitted onto this loom , so wonder if one can be bought and to then attach it to this , wished to add my D3 is a base module without the centre screen nor amplifier, assume that makes a difference , wonder if it’s worth emailing them

https://kram.dk/en/AUX%20cable/p/X499

Last picture u can see where the 3.5mm plugged into this loom , does look very similar but hopefully an email to them ur be able to confirm it 100% that it will work with ur D3

Hope this is also useful to u and plse let us know how u get on

Hi Gstuart

The panel below, in place of the ashtray, with the extra temp, voltage, usb ports, where did you source that from? What's the brand?

Many thanks Blake

Hi Blake

Got the panels from here , they do several designs

https://www.landroverpassion.com/en/produc...scovery-3/

They also do a small panel that can fit onto the bottom

https://www.landroverpassion.com/en/produc...-3-add-on/

Will look for the gauges etc that I got seeing that none of them come with the panels

Hope that helps

As a side note I did fit an aux fuse box in my upper glove box , for these gauges etc , one side is permanent live the other side switched live

The one side that runs directly off the aux battery I done via a relay so that it didn’t stay on all the time after locking the disco

The one I have fitted is by a company called tuff rok, personally the passion panels are better as they have a removable metal front panel held by screws, easier to install gauges etc

The last picture is just the glove box resting onto the tuff rok switch panel before installation , also gives a better picture of the usb , temp gauges

Just looking for the gauges etc for u
