I like the setup you have gstuart, for the fuses etc.., it's the sort of thing I would do.
I've sent the company a message for the aux wiring, as when it comes to the payment, an error message comes up, I think it's possibly because of posting to the UK.
I didn't realise how cheap the wiring is, it's crazy, lol.
If I get a reply, I'll update on here, as it's a no brainer fix.😎Volunteer driver with 4x4 Response South East Wales

Since this thread is fairly active, I hope you don't mind me jumping in with a question. My new to me LR3 has a ticking noise when AUX is selected and horribly garbled sound when playing through it. I've been googling all weekend (between this and other forums), and have not found any posts about similar symptoms.
I'm not quite sure where to start on that. I was thinking maybe it was just something with the actual aux connection in the rear, and recently cut the line from the back of the head unit to install a replacement adaptor... same symptoms as the original line and connector. Would that be a bad ground to the connector at the back of the head unit that is getting backfed or something else?
The end goal is to replace the factory screen with an android auto screen plugged into that replacement aux connector behind the head unit. I've already got that orange fiber jumper installed. Thanks!

Pick of mine with the extra add on underneath. Have a 12v socket and twin usb running from the aux battery on the left, battery monitor for both batteries in the centre, then 12v socket and twin usb off the main on the right, bottom set of switches are for amber beacons and work lights.

KevinD3,
That looks a good setup too.
Is that a cb or ham radio, as I'd be interested in how you setup your antenna, i.e. cable run and mount options.Volunteer driver with 4x4 Response South East Wales

gstuart,
I got in touch with Kram and they put me on to their old UK supplier who said they haven't had the cables for a while as demand dried up.
As an alternative I've ordered a bluetooth plug and play unit from ebay which plugs into the rear aux loom similar to what you did at the head unit. It will be interesting to see how it goes.

I've fitted the unit which took all of 10 mins doing a temp install with the supply wires, as just bared them back a bit, removed the plug on the back of the 12V socket and fitted them into the power socket plug where the spade connectors hold them tight when the plug is put back on.
I will sort the wires properly, as did it quick in work to test. It works fine, so now have a cheap BT wireless connection and can stream, call and listen to anything on the phone through the aux input. I've also got my Echo auto connected.
It was a little snug putting the assembly back in place, but all good. Volunteer driver with 4x4 Response South East Wales

Hi Stalkem,
I can't answer that unfortunately, although have you checked the contacts and wiring on the aux unit?
If you jump to my follow up posts below yours, I've put a bluetooth unit in mine now, so pretty much made the aux socket redundant. I also run an Echo auto through it for streaming radio, music etc.Volunteer driver with 4x4 Response South East Wales

They look like a good alternative if you have the aux wiring.

An update to using the Bluetooth unit off eBay- it appears the volume issue still happens if there isn't anything plugged into the auxiliary socket. I forgot I still had a cable plugged in for using my Echo auto before installing the BT unit, so when I unplugged it, the volume was low. Plug back in and OK, so disappointed as thought it would have worked OK being connected into the existing loom plugs. I haven't investigated further yet, but will see what can be done.Volunteer driver with 4x4 Response South East Wales

Some guys in the past have just gotten a blank 90 degree plug to fill the aux socket, should do the job for you, get the right one you’ll still be able to close the flap as well2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

Some of the CarPlay systems I install require a blank, which comes with the system, it really irked me that the flap can’t be closed when they are fitted, so I found these and now use them instead. They work and are almost invisible when fitted, and stop inquisitive little hands removing them!
