well, Ill be giving that a skip then. Besides my new clever tool makes changing the rods very quick, also doesent damage the rubber grommits at all. The only "mission" part is jacking the vehicle and getting dirty in the wheel arch. On the other hand, with the kind of cash mentioned above I can hire someone to do it for me and get him to clean the car when I get back every week for a year, and still have some left over for supervisor refreshments.
We need to have a tea party show and tell re this when you get back from Lesotho

Desperately tried to keep price down. Component costs make up most off the price the price. There are four actuators required one for each wheel. It adds all up. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

It has the dubious reputation of towing a D3 all be it for 500 mts.
The Rand is not in the toilet, its in the sewer.

D3 was due for its service anyway. So I look on the bright side , was collected to have the service done. 48000 kms in 16 months. I think I drive to much.
I'm on 54000km's within 19 months. I will fit new filter at 60000km's, although it is only due for a new filter on 72000. I will replace filter every 12000km's as I am now convinced that it is the cause of the problem. Touching wood I've had 6000km's of uneventful motoring since previous service
Never had the fuel starvation problem (if it is the problem) so bad that it would not rev over 2000 - except when we left Colesburg at -4deg when I had to nurse it for about 1 hour.
Ask Jan to see the old filter and show you if there is any black snot coming out of itErstwhile - D3 S '07. Dual battery system. Upgraded tow hitch. Mantec skid plate. Frontrunner rr. Tmax double headed built in compressor

Keep tabs on the AIR filters, I've changed the air filter twice in
42000 Km's. And when I found the air con not blowing to spec
in Botswana, though it was packing up, pulled the pollen filter
and it was choked with dust. Replaced and is back to normal.
Need to have the rear door seals checked, was driving in very
powder type dust roads, opened the sun roof and had a gush
of choking dust coming in from the back. It was like cement
powder and covered every thing in the back, on stopping again
had a quick look, found that where the top/bottom doors meet,
+/- 50 mm above/below the door joins on the main seal was
white dust where it got through. D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.

Elegant and simple would be hacking into the D3 computer system and just changing the setting.
Only other is a mechanical solution.
But this way you don't need to buy a separate compressor. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
