Emgine braking software fault

After the latest off-road session I am now convinced that there is a bug in the command shift system.
I run a Tdv6 April05 build.
I tried to proceed down a moderate hill with command shift in 2nd. Just sufficient engine braking but then after a short time there is a violent jar just as if the brakes have slammed on and off. The same thing happens after a further delay of possibly 15 seconds (did not time it).
The same thing happens in sand and rock TR modes.
Another club member with the TDV6 with a similar build date said his did the same thing.

Is this a known problem / fix.

Mine did this on our Wales Weekend. The answer was to take it out of command shift and let the gearbox manage itself.

That rather seems to remove a lot of the point of having command shift and palces a lot more wear on the brakes (more HDC use).

In any case it seems a most strange thing to happen.

Mine does the same but assume it is the HDC taking control

Guys,

Mine does this also and has done it on almost every trip since new (Feb 05 build). It is most apparent in 2nd low only.

I like the idea of seeing what gear I'm in on descents and always use Command Shift.

I cannot see how HDC can take control if you don't push the button. It feels way too violent for HDC. It really feels like compression lock up.

I had the dealer look for fault codes this morning - found nothing so they are sending in one of those electronic fault reports to see what is going on.

It would be a very good idea if everybody else who has experienced this gets their dealer to do the same.

Have you tried altering the speed of HDC, it can be violent when it kicks in. If you play about with the speed HDC comes in this may well give you a clue if this is it or not.

This occurs with HDC switched off. I have observed this in "normal", mud and ruts and rock crawl TR modes.
