Can a rear diff lock be retrofitted? |
|
People Hi,
a friend who has bought a new LR3 has received his car without the rear locking diff despite asking for it.
Since the waiting time for another vehicle with the rear diff lock was about 6 months he decided to take delivery of the car but he is still interested into retrofitting it (the locking diff)
Would this be possible?
Your input is appreciated.
Take care

Not heard of it being done, there is an additional ECU and loom associated with the rear E-diff. together with reconfiguration of the software to be considered

It has been covered before. (Search for more.) From Land Rover's point of view, it's not retrofittable. (Like most factory only features.) Probably cost prohibitive and risky.

I nearly had it fitted then didn't. Not really sure if its actually needed though. Slimer's got one but how you would know if its really making a difference would be hard to tell.
Someone clever here must know what real difference it makes.
