The majority of D3's are covered under warranty so buying a £300+ Tool to clear codes seem's a little expensive
when its only a call to LRA or the dealers and the problem is solved
For the others who own D3's that are out of warranty and want to look after the D3 DIY instead of paying dealer prices then the Faultmate is the way to go in my opinion
A car over 3 years old is going to get a few more problems than a code that needs clearing here and there instead things will need to be calibrated and setup and this tool isnt upto the job
The faultmate is going to have more feature's added aswell which means software reflash on gearbox etc. will be possible again saving main dealer prices

I talked to the distributor over here in Oz about the Hawkeye, and I'm pretty sure it does the EPB and EAS modules (although they call the latter a 'ride level control module').
