I just spotted an advert on the back page of LRO for a new diagnostic tool from Bearmach, and it's able to read data from various D3 modules apparently. Has anyone tried it yet? I'm not sure how much they retail for, but looks interesting.
Wow, just spoke to a BM supplier and these are £300 each, plus another £75 for a dongle that talks to the security module(s) I think I'll wait for them to come down in price!Previously:

I talked a bit to a rep for this tool at an event last month and am considering getting it. I didn't think the price was too bad considering the alternatives right now. But, that price is for just one vehicle/MY Trying to weigh the benefits at the moment.I'm not so good at giving advice...may I offer you a sarcastic comment instead?

I found it on the web for £299+VAT, but it's almost impossible to find any information about what it can do. My guess is that it can read and clear fault codes, but can it do anything else like recalibration procedures or setting the EPB to mount position for example? I can't seem to find out, but depending on what it can do, the price isn't really that bad.

As wiggs said they were on the stand next to ours at the Driffield show..purely a diagnostic tool...quite a neat unit though but told me my EGRs were on the way out
What i liked about was the ability to add vehicles as modules to it i.e you can have D3 and defender TD5 etc all in 1 unit at a sensible cost.
Purely aimed at the independent/Home mechanic that is doing there own work and wants to clear fault codes and re set service indicators."you cannot teach stupid people to do clever things"

I've just bought a VAG 405 for my Audi from Gendan. It should be able to read and clear engien and emmision faults on the D3. I'll let everyone know if it can.

From the manufacturer's web-site

I would have thought the clue to what it works on would be in the name to be honest I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Note I said FOR MY AUDI.... However as an aside I am happy to report it's inbuilt GENERAL EOBD function did allow it to connect to my D3 and my brothers Ford engined 110 giving the option to read and erase engine codes only on both vehicles.
So yes it has basic functionallity on the D3.. but yes it is designed for VW/Audi etc where it works very well.

Well if that's the case you might as well use a cheap ODBII
I think the BBS kit is the way to go, seems like a powerful little tool.I'm not so good at giving advice...may I offer you a sarcastic comment instead?
