Heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise, a pre-chipped engine, all round cameras, remote/timed engine pre-heat, serious torque after just .5 seconds, anti-trailer shimmy, bigger brakes, modified EGRs, new fuel pump, adjustable front headrests...the list goes on with newly designed components where our D3 ones have a high issue rate and new bits too. It looks perfect in every department. I want one now!
Scavenging for the tiniest scraps of a downside in order to attempt a balanced view, the only obvious omissions from the pics/write up : No Outback terrain response mode and no mention or sight of whether it's EPB or SHOB (simple hand operated brake) Of course these may have been addressed and yet not made it into the write-up...Dr. Ian Malcolm:
"Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."

Its an EPB - look at the internal pictures - there's a nice chrome EPB lever next to the gear stickSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Stunning, absolutely stunning. Very upmarket look and feel, seems to be moving away from it's chunky utilitarian roots though. The demarcation between D4/RRS and FFRR is now very small indeed. Let's hope they bring out a stonking new Defender soon that does what it is supposed to do 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

Not sure about the grille but up until very recently I didn't really like the 09MY, so I'm sure it will grow on me.. The rest looks very exciting
Any information on off-road ability in comparison to the D3?
And how does the new engine do in MPG and Co2 outputs?

Over 30mpg average
244g/km CO2 - not a vast improvement IMHO and still in the highest VED bandSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
