Well I have heard that they (europe) will insist on fitting Soft Frontal Protection to all cars inc sports cars.
In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Thumbs Up TLO was chatting to someone in the know only the other day about a bars and was told they will be outlawed completely soon too, and if you happen to have one fitted now and are involved in an accident the book will get chucked at you... Sad

the lights grill front bumper combo should fit IF there has been no change to the front end of the wings ... and its a big IF - suppose a dremel could help (and for the fake air intake too) Rolling Eyes

I look forward to the conversion being a Stickied thread in the next twelve months Thumbs Up

Soft frontal protection and a host of other things - impact detection, crash recording, brake assist, etc - is definitely on the cards where it is not already fitted.

But as I understand it there is nothing here to outlaw a-bars in a modified form. In fact they can help (see Concept Mouldings)

But I am guessing that the D4 will have much of this already built into its design so swapping much of the front end probably isnt going to be an option.

Wouldn't it be easier to just outlaw people being stupid enough to walk in front of moving cars?

The D4 front wings are 15mm shorter than the old D3 ...so there would be a bit more work required TBH Wink

If the wings are 15mm shorter, does that mean the bonnets a different shape as well? The spec for the overall length of a D4 is exactly the same as a D3 (to the mm), so there must be either a lot more curve to the lights and grill which would make the bonnet a different shape, or the loss of length in the wing must be totally accounted for in the shape of each new headlight glass - if you see what I mean???

I think you are right ...if you check the pictures of new and old you can see the wing difference clearly between the edge of the headlight unit and the arch spat.
