Ripon Land Rover.
Got some good news in the pipeline for those who were having issues with Ripon Land Rover - me included.
I have some inside information and a good fix is on it's way; personally i'm delighted it's going to happen.
Sorry, cann't say much for now, but will keep you posted.
Hopefully faith will be restored in this one time unique, classic and independant dealership.

Yep, can now update - they have a new Service Manager
If inclined, please read on.
I used to really rate RLR, in fact moved my business from my supplying dealer [Armstrong Massey] to them and had enjoyed good service until recently - see this post:
http://disco3.co.uk/forum/topic28869.html
Then more recently when my D3 was in RLR to diagnose a loss of coolant fault I was told fairy stories by their "technician".
1] I needed a new EGR cooler - wrong! it was the Oil cooler as diagnosed and sorted by local independant.
2] At same time was also told I needed a new EGR valve = £165 of MY money - it didn't need a new EGR cos they're blanked off !!!
3] Told that when I top up coolant [until repaired] that I must use antifreeze/water mixture as the D3 will sense if I only use water and throw up an engine management fault - utter tosh, there is no system in the D3 that can analyse concentration of coolant.
4] Been charged twice for a couple of jobs which they failed to rectify the first time.
5] Courtesy vehicles are sh*t - worst was a 'W' reg ford Escort !!
So in light of above experiences and getting totally peeved off with them, I had started moving my servicing business elsewhere.
Moved it to Stratstones in Stockton ....yes a Stratstone dealership.
They were very keen for the business, priced matched the keenest prices and even travelled the 140 mile total round trip to collect & return my D3.
And I got especially good personal service from Peter Munroe their Service Manager - see this post.
http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=445581#445581
So the good news is Peter has now joined Ripon Land Rover as Service Manager.
I'm due a meeting with him soon to update him on my experiences.
Hopefully he'll then kick some butt and turn this into a terrific dealership....... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Good news, ours is due it's service and I must admit that their loan cars are sh*t, most places try to put you into something newer or next model up to try and entice you to upgrade, not with RLR, their loaners make you think that your present car is the best thing since the wheel was invented service has been pretty good though although they have had their moments, looking forward to seeing what they are charging for a 4th year 60k service ( any ideas )
Otherwise 7 out of 10 Welcome to the Global Warming Corner.
Slightly
Just had mine at Copley, twice in two weeks, (parts ordered!)
Both times, no replacement car, unless i could wait 3 weeks, then it was a Vectra
With a £500 excess!!!
Booked into a hotel for the night, much easier & less The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.
Always enjoyed good service from Stratstones of Stockton's service department and now they've lost the reason why!
I hope he's not being replaced by the guy who used to run Ripon Land Rover's service department Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills
