Liverpool is to get it's own Land Rover dealer for the first time in years. Hatfields have divided their Jag showroom to make space for a new Land Rover showroom.
I received a letter from them earlier in the week and have just driven past on my way into work. The showroom is all badged up but is empty for the time being, but there are now a number of used Land Rovers on the forecourt.
I wish them well!As you slide down the banister of life

They'll be gone by the morning I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Ave is it just a showroom or can i get my Disco serviced there as well
They are moving the service operation from The Rocket to Columbus Quay, the Queens Drive site to be used for 'internal work' (?) and pre-delivery inspection for both LR and Jag. However they say they will be providing new 2010 model year LR courtesy vehicles which will be a change from the cars the service centre used to have. I hope that now they are a dealership standards will improve.
Dunc... Steve is back!

Just got back from the VIP Evening at Hatfields... champagne, nibbles and a chance to look around the new MY10's. Met some old friends and neighbours there... also met Mike from Hatfields and Spiderbaby. Forgot to arrange a test drive though... doh!As you slide down the banister of life

Cost aside... there is something about the rear lights that just don't sit right with me
Plus... the other half would NEVER agree to let me take it anywhere other than tarmac. (it's difficult enough to get out as it is )As you slide down the banister of life

I took a test drive this morning in the HSE there. Very nippy, no lag on pulling away, didn't notice any problems with hard ride, BUT ... don't like the centre instrument area a lot, thought the 2 12v sockets were in the wrong place, they've gone back to being positioned for smokers, I use them to plug all my chargers in, my phone, her phone, my mp3 player, etc. etc, where are all the wires going to go now there's no cubby hole to drop them in?? And there's an ashtray! Suppose I can stick change in it. Wife found the lack of handles on the front seats an issue when getting in the back. I didn't like the hard plastic around the edges of the centre console, prefer the piano black edges in my D3. Where's the fridge gone. What no adaptive headlights! All that and 5 grand dearer!! Might be keeping the D3 a bit longer. When's the next facelift due? Have they got a customer user focus group I can join?? Might just be in time to help design the next one.2008 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey with Ebony Leather, towing a Coachman VIP 575
Going to arrange a test drive in the near future. I liked the look of the interior when I first saw the photos and sitting inside at the showroom felt it had more of a RRS than Disco feel to it. It will be a shame if some of the more practical features have been dropped. As you slide down the banister of life

..........when we where at Bala last weekend you should have seen the LRE D4 overtaking about four of us on the windy country roads
All the camera stuff does look great (esp. the trailer reversing thingy) but yes, the lack of grab handles adjacent to the front seat head rests is just daft
Dixie....if you are keeping the D3 for a bit longer, fancy getting it muddy at Spiderbaby's next outing to Bala ??

Having looked at the pictures of your last visit I would be game for a go, expect ... maybe ... for the mud plugging bit - might take a bit of getting all of that muddy water of the underside!
When's it planned for?
Also, what's the insurance position for these days on private roads, is it included in the price or do you have to arrange your own?2008 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey with Ebony Leather, towing a Coachman VIP 575

Dixie,
the next D3 day will be Jan/Feb subject to arrangements - spiderbaby is currently sorting out ( )
Mud - just adds character
As for off road insurance its all down to your own motor insurance policy - some policies cover it(NFU ??), most don't !
Its been good fun and you can generally opt in or out of the hardcore stuff - SB goes full-on, I have tended to go for the more, shall we say sedate, routes
