Well I'm still driving around in my 06 HSE with a permagrin, that was until I got a suspension fault warning whilst doing a little gentle green laning on my way back from a meeting.
First the icon on my dash was amber then went to red when I went above about 30mph.
Sat at home with a nice long G&T waiting for LR Assist. Anybody know what kind of replacement vehicle they give you if one is needed? '06 D3 HSE

Probably a Ford Focus - had loads of those, although if you say you'll only drive autos, they might come up with a Volvo (estate in my case) or a Freelander.
Anyway, fingers crossed for you - might not be terminal, maybe just the auto equivalent of <ctrl>, <alt>, <delete> and you'll be D3ing again before you know it. D3 HSE V8...

And better than a Ford Focus.

LR and Volvo are both in the Ford group. My dealer here in Germany sells both. Maybe the two dealerships in Doncaster are actually the same company, even if they have kept different names, perhaps for historical reasons.
