Took the kids to a party in another village across seriously icy rural lanes, including a steep down hill (15% incline) with a right angle bend at the bottom (where the hedge has a large gap!). The road is never gritted and nicely polished by people trying to get up it!
No problems at all. HDC did a fine job on the down slope in the ice.Paul

Loads of snow in Northumberland today. Spent quite a bit of time ferrying people, kids, sledges, party food and party goers back and forth as - surprisingly - no one who didn't have a 4x4 wanted to drive anywhere today. Had to "help" quite a few who had foolishly set out in 2 wheel drive cars to find that they couldn't cope with thick snow on a bed of ice. Got many great compliments about the D4
Standard Pirellli Scorpions surprisingly effective on snow and ice. Never felt like the D4 wasn't going to cope with the conditions at all.Disco 4 TDV6HSE

I am sooooo impressed with this vehicle. There is a lot of snow in The Lakes today. "Rescued" a stricken Renault Grand Scenic off Dunmail Raise. They had totalled a CV joint whilst wheel spinning in the snow. Towed their car full of people off the hill and into Ambleside to the garage. Then took their whole lot over Kirkstone Pass to where they were staying on Ullswater. Was doubting my sanity at one stage when there was a stuck transit van and a RAV 4 on its side near the Kirkstone Inn. The snow on top of steep icey roads is lethal - but the HDC did a fantastic job - as did the stock pirelli's.
This vehicle is just amazingly competent, reassuring and a real life preserver Disco 4 TDV6HSE

Nothing as someone else on here has said. I've done 1000 miles and now it's been two days in the dealers with wheel alignment problems (steering wheel off centre and vehicle pulling to the left) and they reckon another day to fix it. It came off the production line like it Not impressed
Whilst awaiting for the removal of a vehicle 'stuck' on the wheel alignment rig, they have removed the rear brake pads and shoes and chamfered off the back (leading edge) to remove the squeal when reversing.
To confirm what was reported on here earlier, LR are aware of the problem and are creating a fix. There were five other Disco 4' in for the brake job yesterday.
Bill WrightNever take life too seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
Drove into Yeadon at about lunchtime today along the A658/659 (past the airport) and saw 2 Stornoway D4s within about a mile of each other along that stretch of road.
