But my dealer or trusted independent would do that for me.
I have no use for such silly toys or their more dangerous stable mates.

Why is this now more off topic ???
Surely we are discussing the item proposed for reward in the listed competition ?

Its a sponsors thread, and its about winning a service tool. If you don't want to win one then don't enter. If you want to discuss the pro's/cons of various service tools then discuss here. I'll even move it back to Maintenance and Mods, because you are right, its not Off Topic.
But please keep it clean, I'm trying to watch a football match

Its your choice if you decide to use your LR Dealer or Independant
I would rather do all my work myself as you may have seen in my project thread so a BBS SRT would be a good idea for me if i didnt already have an MSV2
Bottom line for me was the faultmate was a hell-of-a-lot cheaper than an autologic; and my nearest independent and/or dealer is 700km away.Have a nice day!

Bottom line for me was "its-a-hell-of-a-gadget" - oh, and I can read some error codes etc
If I turn my D3 into a paperweight I'll give TFC or my dealer a call to come a sort me out -
Everyone wins - Even me cos in the long run I'll save money by being able to diagnose stuff myself.Duncan

'Hacking' a D3 to provide something that should essentially be paid for at build is the same IMO as downloading pirate music, video's, 'Warez' etc.
I really dont want to get into this as it is well documented on this site the difference of opinions between 2 of the sites sponsors.
BUT..... with TFC's above quote does 'Hacking' also include Tuning Re-Maps ? (Modifying and Uploading data that wasn't paid for at build).
Personally, I agree with Gareth...If you dont want to win one then dont bother reading or entering, at least BBS give the chance for members to win a freebie.
What is the difference between Reseting the 'service interval indicator' (SII) with LR's equipment, BBS's equipment or Autologic's equipment......If the equipment is designed to do it and does do it then whatever equipment is used the SII is reset and will advise the driver as and when the next service is due.
Any other Site Sponsors got any competitions going as I'm up for the chance to win something if I'm interested in it.
As stated above I dont want to, and will not get into a ding dong with 2 of the site sponsors, both are great guys and both give their experience, expertise and service in their own different ways to all members and guests of this site.
BBS and TFC.....keep up your good work.Formerly Blakey

Why have a remap hack for more power and better fuel economy, just buy a D4 I bet if you put money in an idependants pocket they'd do anything they we able to do for an easy payday
If someone with a second hand vehicle wants a factory fit option, what is there course of action to upgrade? The dealers don't want to know (or told not to). Dealers did offer remaps but this has been withdraw, why?

Or before the D4 people could have gone for the D3 V8.

Im going to have to remove my Discovery 4 wings now as the dealers didnt offer them as an option on the D3
Lets all fit the Discovery 4 front end ...
Simon's Quote...Who cares if LR don't get the income and are not able to continue to employ people and build the vehicles we want to buy
Im sure Land Rover have bigger fish to fry than a few non genuine mod's and "software hacks"

This is the same old record! Simon why are you obsessed with the MSV being the bringer of D3 Armageddon? You jump on the bandwagon every time this subject comes up. Why don't we settle this once and for all by putting up a poll on who has bought the Faultmate and then another tick box with how satisfied they are with THEIR purchase. How many of these so called horror stories have resulted by people using a Faultmate?. It is simply another affordable option for people to consider using, a lot of forum members have already voted in it's favour with their wallets ie the number of people who have had activations done. I still can't believe a forum sponsor is being slagged off for offering a free piece of kit to anyone who wants the ability to reset their own service indicator, as for as I'm aware this SRT does not put an ink stamp in you service book so what's the problem? Have you even seen this bit of kit? Do you fully understand it's use And possible use as a platform for the D3/4 diagnostics? If you don't want any kit that BBS offer keep quite as you making yourself look daft with false accusations and scaremongering.
The Autologic kit has it's place in the world and so does the MSV Faultmate, live and let live I say and don't be such a Luddite!Club Exped trailer
