did you find out the hard way on the D4 key?
The d3 keys are waterproof. They are white water proof.
The main trick for you is to buy cheaper wetsuits so that you don't have to bother getting on the ground in your expensive wetsuit in order to get the keys from under the car...
Thank god kayaker's wet suits are not so expensive... with all the rocks I hit when swimming out of the kayak. Some people get by
With a little understanding
Some people get by
With a whole lot more
I dont know
Why you gotta be so undemanding

FRAPP... nah just getting good it is, water temp is cold enough now that you feel "refreshed".... it's actually very nice at the moment,,
captain sugar i get your point, and being a retired paddler i have to say i was a drysuit fan, and made sure my rolling was spot on so very rarely got the toes wet...
however, will NEVER scrimp when it comes to suits as the technology available allows me to stay in the water for 2 hours plus in temps of -9 as i did last year,,,
have to admit a friend is the GM of a very good wetsuit brand so don't pay too much.... BUT i look after my kit and hate to see it getting wrecked for no good reason.. one wife.......livid

matt, how much? i think that's what the aussies call the plough? not sure if i'd pay all that for a safe....
npinks, apart from the humiliation of having a waterproof handbag out there it wouldn't last 1 set wave..
i'm going to stick with the keypod i reckon,, one wife.......livid

I bought one so i could make my own towing attachment with some 50mm x 50mm box section
One could be used for a towball another for a jaw and another for just a towing eye incase i ever need recovery in tesco's car park
Its only held in with a pin so you could have numerous attachments really...Maybe a D3 surfboard attachment

You wouldn't catch me leaving my D3 key in one of those! Have a look at these vids to see different ways these types of combination locks can be compromised.

A lot of the security devices you get in the States (Yes I know Squire are British) aren't as secure as in the UK `cos they have the ultimate deterrent. Someone tries to nick your stuff over here and your expected to help them carry it to their car, in the States you're expected to ventilate their head!

If someone is switched on enough to be able to pick the combination then it is probably more likely that the person who just happens to be passing can pick up a brick and smash the window, and then hotwire it (especially in some parts of the country).
Certainly as far as diving is concernerd, there are normally other people hanging around the vicinity that would notice something going on and any type of keysafe is more secure than hiding it up under the rear bumper.

and THAT is why i have to lock the box to the underneath of the car, so as to make it as difficult as possible to get at it, let alone try and pick it..
thinking about it, the new D4 key would be a nightmare as even if it was locked in a safety box just becuase it was in the vicinity i'm assuming that the car would unlock?? one wife.......livid
