Standard Factory Privacy Glass Percentages |
|
I'm soon to pick up our new (to us) D3 HSE, the only extra it doesn't have that I want is privacy glass. I've spent a good couple of hours searching the site and reading the many many threads on the subject. All I want is for the D3 to look like it has the standard LR factory fitted privacy glass. Does anyone know what % LR use for their factory privacy option. I appreciate factory isn't a film but it must still work on the same % system. Failing that if you have had it done aftermarket maybe you could post or link to some pictures and let me know which percentages you went for. I've heard a lot of good things about Ben @ Midland tinting but need help with which % to go for. Thanks.

To be sure - give LRCS a call, and ask. They will tell you exactly what is fitted from factory. There may be some change with MY so best to check. They do have the info as I remember finding out for a FL2 "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

A simple plan to phone LR CS which I'd totally overlooked! A job for monday then, if I find out I'll post results here. As a slight OT what is the "MY" that I often see quoted about the site?

Think you are about £70 over the Midland Tinting price "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

Level of tint was just below Limo. After seeing others with limo tint and trying to reverse at night . Tint looks on my D3 which is Buck Blue. To look in you have to squash your nose against the window. Looking out is just like having very dark sunglasses on. Nothing to obtrusive about the view. It was 1 of the first mods that I carried out on my D3.
Can't find the number of Midland Tinting in my phone so must of deleted it. Ben at Midland Tinting is very friendly and knowledgeable . Would reccomend to anyone for any car
EDIT
Yes tints are doing well. I have seen some that have been to the Pyranees on their hols and come back with all sorts of scrapes and scratches from the sand getting on the window when it's been wound up and down. After 2 weeks in Morocco and 4 days in the Sahara I have no visible scratches at all HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE

Thanks for the reply,
I,m not after Limo tint either, My car is Tonga green and altho it looks quite dark in some light it looks light in others ?
I am after a dark smoked effect, that you can tell is tinted "dark" but not blacked out.
If that makes sense.
