Will be going on a ferry next week. Do not have current access to the car manual
How do you turn off the alarm tilt feature on the HSE

I thought you just press the lock on the key fob twice within 3 seconds. Anyway there is an ongoing debate whether UK models have a tilt feature. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Remote key within three seconds just turns off the internal sensor, not the Tilt ISTR.
Mind you, you never hear it anyway! Just remove the box altogether & you'll hear it go off Bodsys Brake Bible

The D4 is different. I do not think that the UK model is fitted with the tilt sensor. To turn off the tilt or interior sensor alarm, go to the vehcile settings on the instrument cluster menu.
Pressing the lock key twice acitvates superlock on the D4.

Whilst you are both enormously generous and public spirited, I was a tad confused why the original poster was being offered such cogent D3 solutions!

Pressing the lock button twice within 3 seconds is what the manual says. However I was in a queue for a ferry with another D3 and tha lady rang LRA and their recommendation was to use the emergency lock button on the passenger door, after locking all the doors manually from the inside. I need to check this as I am pretty sure when I did it , the tail gate was still unlocked.
Edit: maybe the answer is to use the internal lock button first, this may then lock the tailgate.

Thanks for the info - I'll have a look on the settings menu.
Was getting confused with the other replies (but thanks anyway ) as I use the double click and check the mirrors are in to ensure the car is locked. Thought I might be leaving the car un-alarmed

Remember that the settings menu only acts as a one-time bypass of the sensors, and it resets to normal operation on unlock......so you have to activate the bypass each time you lock the vehicle.
P.S. Good job reading through the confusion!
