D4 Heated steering wheel and tiptronic conversion.
Ive converted my D4 non heated wheel to a fully heated version with Tiptronic gear change.
Here is a few pics of the finished wheel installed with the new look silver/crome tipped buttons for the phone and cruise etc.
Just to add, the Tip does not work as a plug and play kit it will need some further diagnostics done to enable it which should be available very shortly along with FULL D4 diagnostics.
The heated steering wheel also needs a new clock spring with an extra 2 wires in it for the heating element if your car has not already got a heated wheel fitted , which again should be available very soon for the D3 and D4.

That looks brilliant.
I have a heated wheel, but it looks different to yours......it doesn't have the perforated leather sections, I would much prefer these.
So how much?? 2011 D4 Landmark, Mini Cooper SD Clubman, Range Rover Vogue SE

Clock spring for D4 and will fit D3 with the extra 2 wires for the heated steering wheel module price available soon.
The wheel with NON tip with the perferated leather is LR016251 im not sure of the price for that but it will be less than the tip version i think and you can probabaly move your old one on.
Infact i may know someone who has got one for sale, ill ask for you.

Does this mean you can fit this to a D3? and you will be able to add heated wheel and tiptronic to a D3?

You could possibily fit but there would be some extensive work and probabaly an interface needed for conversion or some modifyed switches. but you never know what will become available to enable this.
The D3 uses resistive ladder for its switches the D4 uses LIN-Bus (Local Interconnect Network) so they are different to each other so the simple plug and play option would probabaly not work.
The clock spring i spoke about would enable D3 heated wheels to be fitted to a non heated wheel car because the extra 2 wires are there for the heating element.

Ok cheers. I was particularly attentive to the possibility of flappy paddle gears on a D3 8) That would be a very neat upgrade.
I suppose it would require some work to make the paddles do what the command shift does on the gear stick.

I used the heated wheel today for the first real time since fitted with the good layer of snow wh had lat night , ohhhhh how nice it was touching a warm steering wheel and not freezing my fingers off.
Im currently awating prices for teering wheels and switches for the D3's and D4's
so as soon as i have them ill post for people who may be interested.
Its a mine field of pricing depending on has it got phone has it got voice is it smooth is it not etc etc its not a simple list.
