I'm looking for a Bull bar / Roo bar for my Petrol Disco 3 in Adelaide. It seems they only make em for Diesel Disco 3s. I must be missing something, but I can't see the logic in that.
What do people think of the polycarbonate 'nudge bar' version from Land Rover? At $1500 fitted it seems a lot but is better than nothing. Any thoughts / comments? Thanks.

Worth $399 fitted . No more use than a laundry basket and duct tape.
The ARB steel is the only one .......... , but these things are function over style.

Thanks Neil; $399 seems about right to me too! There are some steel nudge bars on eBay for around $500 but I'm not sure they would be much better. ECB think they can do one for about $2,500 but not till next month. Looks like that's the way I'l have to go. Thanks for your help.

Thanks guys; I have asked some Land Rover wreckers to keep an eye on one for me. Also, failing one showing up I will get the ARB steel type fitted before my next trip in October. Thanks again.

Hi Grumpa
If you want any pics of the bar fitted just let me know. After it was fitted, i did have to 'clean up' the inner guard plastic, i didn;t like the way they fitted it back.
I will post them up if you want.

For anyones interest: I checked around and ARB don't do a bull bar for D3 unless it is a diesel. ECB make one, but it is alloy.
TRS in Adelaide are able to 'modify' a standard ARB steel bar and fit it to my D3 petrol - cheaper than the ECB bar too. I will post pics of the fitted bar if anyone is interested.

Not exactly sure but TRS are a specialist LR business. I am assured that the modifications will not be noticeable or impact on safety or legal requirements. Sorry, I claim no mechanical expertise but, according to folk on AULRO, these guys know what they are doing!

It's the V eight petrol that doesn't match ; the V six petrol , I've not heard of that issue.

An email from ARB states:
"Unfortunately, Eric I am unsure who you heard this information from as ARB do not produce a bull bar to suit the petrol models, diesel models only.
We are unable to supply you with a bar at all at this stage, however I am more than happy to pass on your enquiry to our engineering team for possible designs in the future.
Thank you once again and I look forward to hearing from you in the future.
Kind regards
Lisa Glaetzer
ARB Corporation Ltd"
I guess all Disco 3 owners should be lobbying ARB if they want a Steel bar. Crazy!

From what I have seen on Heine's v8, the ARB winch bar for
the D3 is interchangeable. He had his old bar taken off is old
TDV6 and put on his new D3V8 with out any hassel, or does
ARB ship a diffrent spec bar to SA D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.
