I think ARB and TJM are the only ones to make a steel bar. About $2-$3K

I believe that the ARB bar does NOT fit the V8. I don't know about the TJM.

There's been a few threads about ARB bars not fitting on V8's. For the record, I had a V8 (sadly stolen couple of months ago) which was front-ended by a Hilux. For less than the cost of the OEM bumper my smash repairer put on an ARB bar and winch. Hence there is one example of an ARB bar on a V8. I don't know how/why it would be different, other than the V8 doesn't have an intercooler and associated piping.
The only issue I had was that around the front of the RF wheel well, the black plastic lining flapped about and snagged the tyre when reversing (when in sand). I just cut some of it off, exposing part of the window washing solution bottle and problem went away. My local ARB shop - Thomastown branch - was very careful to check with me when I was ordering my bullbar...."it is a diesel isn't it ?"....he said the bar DOESN'T fit a V8.......don't know why but that's what they say....good luck.

Hamster - I have an ARB Bull Bar on my '06 V8 US spec. The only issue that requires the right part# is the area for the washer fluid tank. The proper ARB has allowed for this by "boxing out" this zone. It definitely exists here in the States. 2006 D3 Tonga Green

Based on garryc's problems with them - I can't see that being a bad thing!

Oh btw the group are doing the four corners this year during june/july. So if you see a Buckingham Blue D3 floating around in a big group of about 16 vehicles that'll be me.

I would hope that they redesigned some of the problem points with the bar They are a strong and good looking bar 8) What annoyed me was that when I rang the factory with the initial exposed cable problem they told me 'no one else has that problem' and they sounded disinterested No way to treat a customer So subsequent problems went on Disco3. Even ARB need to fix up the washer bottle problem 2013 D4, E-diff, Vision pack

yeah, I had the washer bottle issue; otherwise its a great piece of kit - just heavy!
Myself and older brother in his D3 will be doing: Adelaide - Oodnadatta Track (Coward / Dalhousie Springs) - Yulara - Kings Crk Station - Alice - Adelaide from 1 July if any other D3's are planning a school holiday trip and plan to be in that area then let me know.!
