I think a lot depends upon how you describe the purpose of the 'chip'. I suggested that it was a re-map of the engine for the purpose of increased towing capability and improved mpg. It should be noted that this was not a lie to get round the rules - my main reason for the TC treatment was the improved economy (Scotsman after all).

Don’t know if this info may help.

We have a Norwich Union mini fleet insurance. There is no extra charge for the re-mapping on any of our vehicles, Insured cover is any driver with £250 excess, we are covered for off road use anywhere. We have 6 vehicles on the policy and the cost is £3,750

White 110 3.9 V8 waiting for chassis repairs.
