| alternators does anybody still make them ? |
|
Does anybody out there have or no where to get an alternator for an 05 plate disco 3
The cars been off the road TWO WEEKS now  and no joy . cant track one down anywhere,
All help greatly appreciated

Or find somebody to repair it for you. they normally fail on diodes (or they did in the old days anyways).

I had a real problem trying to get an Alternator for my Disco, my dealer done alot of chasing up and got one from LR through critical parts, still had to wait over a week for it.

The alternator in the D3 is manufactured by a well known brand(can't remember the brand). Any company who specialises in repairing electronic motors should be able to repair it. Like Countrywide says, the diodes most likely will be the problem and can be exchanged for a few bucks. CLUB ILLEGAL CAR WASHERS

Hi All
the alternators are made by Denso are you looking for a recon or a new one alll the alternators are the same right up to 09 but the part numbers have changed my 05 is running an 09 alternator but had to buy a brand new one.
Euro car parts were doing them for a while but it was cheaper to go to LR

Yup thats the brand, Denso. Had mine fixed with new diodes and bearings for 45 euro. CLUB ILLEGAL CAR WASHERS

Thanks for all help, even the spares to repair it arnt available, not locally anyway but Land Rover U.K. say im now at the top of the critical list and it will arrive in morning , not holding my breath but lets hope. got to say though whats going on when you cant get a pretty std part quickly, god help me if anything else goes THREE WEEKS to get an alternator !!!!
