Hi there - first post so be gentle!
Have recently moved from a Patrol to a used 2005 D3 TDV6 and generally loving the new car - so much more pleasurable to drive!
My only problem is that sometimes when accelerating away from a stanstill you can feel a slight shudder (for 2-3 seconds) at about 30-40km/h. Unfortunatley thats about as far as my technical diagnosis goes but I am hoping that this is nothing to do with the auto gearbox etc. Does anybody have any ideas as to what this might be as the car came with a 3 month warranty from the LR dealer. If you need any more info let me know
By the way - the car has done 180k....
Any feedback gratefully received
Cheers
Darren

Use the gear select/shift to stay in a chosen gear from start and see if it's gear specific .
It maybe at change from 2nd to 3rd . Report back ..........

Thanks Neil
Just went out for drive. Using manual gear changes was smooth and no problem. When reverting back to auto the shudder was back between what i think was 2&3 (the changes are so smooth its hard for me to tell!). Interestingly - it seems worse when going up an incline
Cheers

With that type of mileage , I am almost certain your gearbox needs flushing

Thanks will look into getting that done - do you reckon the shudder indicates any long term damage - only reason for asking is that I have a 3 month warranty from the dealer and am wondering whether I can get them to pick up the tab.......
also a bot concerned about BUDDA1's comment about it being too late - any chance of elaborating?!
Cheers

Shouldn't be any damage The comment about it being too late probably refers to the fact that if the box has started to shudder the oil is contaminated enough to require a flush and not just a change . This is 3 times the price as it gets done twice , plus then filling it . I would definitely insist that the dealer does it under warranty

G'day Darren
Just for info i had my Gbox flushed at 100 000 Km and really it was not clean and one could tell it need a flush, even though LR says it is flushed for life (read 10 years on the LR documents).
Dito on my L322 at 60 000 K, need it too, thing is LR didn't even know what oil to put in since it is filled "for life"...
Do that and let us know
Cheers mate l=Oo\________/oO=l l:Ool======loO:l

Shudders on auto 2nd to 3rd , not select........... umm .......... there's your clue.
Speak to a ZF transmission guy . This could be a sensor.
It's not my field , but it's auto select problem.

I had shudders for a short while due to worn front universal in rear tailshaft. Same circustance under load in lower gears.
Good luck.

I had the shudder at around 2000 RPM. Had the gearbox flushed and now it is like new. The cost was 06 TDV6 SE with many LR and after-market extras. Used only on weekends and trips out west.
