Without knowing exactly which wires you've tapped into, which rocker switch you have etc I can't tell you why the fog light dash light is coming on and the spots don't work.

At a guess, you have tapped into either the red with orange wire (rear fog) or blue with red (front fog - more likely as this is the same colour as from the main beam COLUMN switch) wire from behind the main lighting switch and are applying 12V to it through your switch somehow - I think because you have probably wired the switch up wrong Sad

Where did you get your switch from as I'm really just guessing all along Big Cry

Yeah that's what I've done
blue/red from bhined the switch

I might run a cable direct from light unit but there isn't the same wire, the blue/ black and blue/orange

OK - well tapping into BLUE AND RED from behind the switch is the wrong one!!

If you have BLUE AND BLACK and BLUE AND ORANGE options you are evidently using the right hand headlight, and as I've said and as on my latest diagram the BLUE AND BLACK is the main beam wire.

Please please please please double check every connection before you try anything else, as there is obviously the danger of wiring this up wrong and damaging your D3 Confused

Matin
thanks for all your help I've now manage to sort this

I took a feed direct from each full beam and also tapped into the blue/red behined the switch, this then illuminates the dash ligh for the fogs when the spots are on.

Bit of a headaque but got there in the end

cheers
