I own my TDV6 SE for 10 months now and I never managed less than 15l/100 km in the city and 10.8l/100 km outside. It had the turbocharger changed the first week and I always suspected the change affected the consumption. However the dealer says it couldn't have, it was just a question of swapping parts, no adjustments were made...

I'm a bit dissappointed and feel left out as I've had no faults. going away tommorrow for a few days, will post pics when I get back. taking the camper for a spin so will get to see how it tows and get the feck out of the rat race for a bit

I'm doing 1100 miles this weekend up to N Scotland & back, unfortunately just to look at a house. Enjoy your camping & watch out for the bugs!

nah, eat em neat and enjoy the flavour. be a good oportunity to see how my economy goes when towing as compared to just a regular trip. only 2000km done but got 8.4l/100km the other weekend and about 10.3 so far for the complete 2000kms (according to the screen display).

Turbo lag & fuel consumption
I have owned 3 diesel 4WDs in my last 20 years...all had turbo lag and certainly not an abundance of performance. To overcome that, I purchased a V8. Plenty of performance, instant response and quite surprisingly a reasonable consumption. In city traffic, in Sydney, I get around 19 l/100km which I think is notbad. Have not had any long drives yet, but on the way to our weekend farm (320km round trip up the mountains, 1200 metres) I got 12.7 l/100 km. To say that I am pleased with the car would be an understatement. In January we will be going to Ayres Rock with some relatives and I am very much looking forward to that.
My previous wagon, a Nissan Patrol 4.2 TD, managed 16 l/100km on the same trip 5 years ago.

Just did 1040 mile round trip this weekend. Just to see what was the best mpg I could get out of my D3 auto, I did the 1st 415 miles at virtually constant 60mph (using cruise control 99% of time) & got 33.4mpg.
Next 220 miles were on Scottish A roads with some slow traffic & some overtaking, got 28.8 mpg.
Then decided to head home rather than overnight up North, got 22.7 on the way home at 85mph all the way, again all on cruise control.
I now know what the min & max mpg is for my car for long hauls, also that the fuel capacity is 87 ltrs (must have been on fumes when I got to the petrol station) and that once the fuel warning comes on, the range indicated in the trip computer drops two miles for every mile driven!

I have had as good as 8.7on a long journey, speeds around 100kmh. Generally between 10 and 11 L/100km though. Long journey with 1600kg trailer and snowtyres didn't go over 11 though!
Enhancement hasn't effected it negatively and may even be slightly better.
