yes,
maybe worth mentioning in addition, if you then try to accelerate, and Im sure I do this gently as I normally do, you get the loud thud which like you describe seems to go away when warm.

Ok I will see what they say/do. Turned 56k today, and doing plenty of miles so expect 60k visit in about 5 -6 weeks.

Using terms from when I owned a Vauxhaul Viva , I would say it feels like "transmission knock", but I know it isn't, well hope not 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

I have also experienced this when cold, I also get, occasionally on the first change up of the day on the open road an incidence of attempting to change up to second gear and it will then stay in first, taking the revs up quite a bit before it does actually change up. I am not overly concerned about it, and just put these things down to the transmission oil being cold (more viscous), as it never does it again on the same day. Have also heard of same problems on Porsche Cayenne. Don't know if these use the same auto box.
