Interesting point of view DG. Please get this issue in perspective; I merely made a comment that I do not believe the electrics will last that long, and I made it on the basis of my own views formed from past performance. I may be right or I may be wrong; I can accept that, but I'm surprised that such a comment would cause you to write what you did on a public forum, and having never even met me.
I may or may not agree with all your views, but I respect your right to make them, and would certainly never wish you dead or indeed any harm to you. That's quite a strong comment to say the least. I hope you are comfortable with it.

Wow lighten up... if you read DG's post it was quite clearly punctuated with a
Which is quite obviously a sign that the comment was made as a joke... if he'd ended with a or then I would get steamy and start locking your doors at night.

Easy Boys!
The main thing is, that the D3 is better for the planet than a Prius. We knew that, now they all know that too

isn't the prius partly powered by electricity/electrics so it would be more vulnerable to a failure given that point of view.

I couldn't care less!!
Let's see a Prius drive off the track and over scrub to allow a pansy hilux to get past, like I had to do when going camping last weekend! Have a nice day!

There was a thing last night on Tonight With Trevor Macdonald seeing how green some families are. Usually hate these things but I had to laugh when a couple who had sold their 2 petrol driven cars and bought 2 hybrid cars were told that they should have kept the 2 previous cars because the energy in creating the new cars far outweighed the reduction in co2 that the 2 hybrid cars managed. Took the smile off their faces!
There was also some silly girl who was into eco tourism and guess how she got to all these places - yup by plane! She was a real preacher of green ethics and I could just imagine the grief she gives her friends who drive, don't recycle etc. She was proven to be the worst poluter of the 5 examples! Loving the power of the TDV8!

Lol
Right now have both a Prius and a Civic Hybrid parked on the drive next to our D3 (Hybrid as works car makes me about 70pounds a month on the petrol money after the much rebated income tax is paid thus allowing the use of the D3 privately)
Wonder what the mad greenies would make of my auto park?

I ride one of these during the winter..
http://www.skoter.se/scripts/i_tidningen.p...5a4dbd094b
and while stopped to let a skier past and warned him about dodgy ice got a mouthful back about being a polluter:
(i) Ask how they got there (old Volvo with no cat. converter and high consumption)
(ii) How they heat their home (direct electrical on cabin and oil at home 3-4000Litres oil per year)
(iii) Holidays (charter to Thailand 500-600kg of fuel assuming jumbo with all seats taken) I can drive my Disco and the snowmobile for years and never get near his consumption.

"Showing off" doesn't really cover it!
"Falling off" is a bit inadequate too!
