We regularly get 50 - 60 c inside the car, but it first became apparent on a trip to Toowoomba and it was only about 25c in the day there.
The disco goes in for it's 24000 service tomorrow and the service guy is chasing LR for an answer as they haven't replied to this issue yet.
keep you postedDisco 4 Sept 09

My steering wheel has started going sticky in the area were the heel of my palms touch the wheel when my hands are at 1/4 to 3.
It's actually fairly annoying, petty niggles like this on a long business trip often are.
Was your replacement wheel different to the original? If not I guess it will happen again

I drove my parents' SE at the weekend, the wheel has melted at the top, is there a TSB for this? Any other info they can give the dealer to help would be appreciated.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

I reported this to my dealer. They just cleaned the surface and said is was good again. I don't agree and it is still rough and sticky. LR Customer Service is now involved and want a technical report with pictures. I'm waiting for the dealer to tell me when the report can be arranged.
Here are two pics. One is the LHS and shows normal texture the other is the RHS with "melted" sticky surface.
Comments welcome because this is a quality problem and not user abuse and should be covered under warranty. See the pictures and you will notice that pic which shows the rough surface is quite normal below the join in the leather and my hand grips this area if I rest my arm on the door trim.

Just thinking, but do you fellas clean your hands after filling up with diesel??
Mine hasn't gone sticky yet (alhough will probably do so immediately after the warranty expires). I always clean my hands with 'wet ones' before getting back into the car after filling up.
Stevo, I have had the A pillar external trim blow off several times. In fact, I just recieved in the mail another set of replacement clips. The wind hits the windscreen and then pushes up under the trim, eventially causing the clips to fail. A design fault, me thinks. Currently the passenger side one is held to the windscreen with duct tape.Have a nice day!

I have used disposable vinyl gloves from day one because most diesel pumps are just filthy so the problem for me isn't caused by diesel.
