| disco 3 dies when selecting reverse |

hi i have a disco 3 tdv6 and have a problem .As soon as i select reverse the vehicle dies but if i select drive its fine the problem is only in reverse

Stupid question time.....does it only do it if you are moving forward very slowly and then select reverse?
My D3 will stall if I select reverse too quickly before coming a complete stop??

i can start the vehicle then its fine but as soon as i select reverse it dies , for your d3 look at the gearbox you will see theres a electric plug ,loosen it and spay brake and clutch cleaner on the contacts ,see if that will work
