My Disco is coming up to 3 years old and have noticed over the last 12 months that it produces clouds of smoke during hard acceleration. Should I be concerned?
Cheers

fuel additive
and no should not be concerned... however you may wish to take him out for a decent run every now and then to purge the system, in doing so, take it down a gear for a short.

No, just as it came out of the factory.
The only time it smokes is during hard accelaeration, looks like fog in the rear view mirror. The warranty expires in a couple of months and if its something serious I need to get it sorted.

If smoking, it's the easiest thing to check. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

If it's only under hard acceleration then I think this is normal. Mine's the same, no split hose, no other engine probs (that I know about). Try hard acceleration 2 or 3 times in succession if it only does it the first time then nothing to worry about, otherwise start looking for a fault, starting with the MAF sensor check/clean then the intercooler hose. Giving my MAF a clean seemed to help.
Then give it a hard right foot everynow and again to blow out any soot, mine's sweet

Smoke under hard acceleration has always been a trademark of Turbo D cars Has it not? whenever behind a diesel car that is going for an overtake there is usualy always a good puff of smoke on full thottle.

Had the same after new engine remapped it then it got worse, wound a split in the hose on the LHS of engine on the top, replaced it, no smoke, remapped again smokes a little bit but i like it because not unlike the native atlantic squid i too can disapear in a cloud of smoke!!!
Even better if your being tailgated by some in a convertable!!
