I don't think you made a mistake. All the complaints that I've researched on the internet re: the Disco 3 seem to be about early build quality and software glitches in same. After Jan 06 all this seems to dry up on all the forums. I think the D3 is now comparable to any other car in reliability based on current consumer feedback that I've observed. I'm very happy with mine......took delivery Dec 1. '06 LR3 4.4 V8 HSE Heavy Duty package, Satellite Radio, Luxury Package

Hi Dr D, Kentdale, Kendal. Always been fine for me & close to home so easy choice. Mines only as very basic spec HSE, only got telly in the front !
Thank goodness for my D2 this morning though, flood city here, plenty of wading through our little lanes, had to drag aside a fallen tree the other day. Couldn't do that in a merc.

Just to wrap this thread up, picked up my shiny new blue beauty yesterday, very nice indeed, some points for other D2 'ers looking to upgrade ...
i) No curry hook (auto so can use g/stick)
ii) No little box to keep coins in
iii) No nice sun glasses holders
iv) Just why are there so many can holders ?
v) Rear bins a bit tiny (but my D2 was a 5 seater)
vi) No map holders on the roof
OK, thats it - the rest is so different its amazing. But its still an LR.
Grin city from now on.

Can (cup) holders are definitely a concession to the US market where they are all the rage. People swill beverages at all hours in their vehicles here. '06 LR3 4.4 V8 HSE Heavy Duty package, Satellite Radio, Luxury Package

I asked the same question last year and changed from a D2 to a D3 in Nov 06. It is the best thing I've done and still can't wait to drive it every day

Two more points :-
i) Rear seat centre arm rest - passengers quite miss that, but the seats are better than the d2 by miles
ii) I used to steer into big puddles & make the biggest splash possible. Always. I don't now, this shiny beast is too nice for that.
Oh &
Voice reco. bluetooth phone etc. too bloomin complicated for an old git, so I just turn the radio louder. Excellent sound system tho.
