Thanks. Do you know the LR Part Number of the Most Cable? Could not find it in Microcat.

I recently bought a MY10 D4 HSE and to my surprise I found that there is no Bluetooth installed even when I have phone buttons on a steering wheel and also fully functional microphone. Didn't even ask about it when I bought the car since such a scenario didn't even come to my mind.
I asked about retrofit from a local LR dealer, but they informed me that Bluetooth cannot be retrofitted afterwards and recommended to buy some aftermarket Bluetooth device . Is that really true? On many of my previous cars (mostly BMW's) retrofit install was viable option for many accessories.
Reading this forum, it seems that it should be possible to retrofit it. Would it be possible to purchase needed parts online (over here or some webstore) and install by myself. Install sounds such a task that I would be able to do by myself, but if Faultmate is required, I'm not sure if anyone over here in Finland has one. Any idea? It starts to get a bit expensive install if I need to buy MSV2 (and possibly a compatible laptop) as well.

LR can't switch it on .. That's why they say it can't be done
It's very easy to fit ... You just need the module and some most ( fibre optic ) cable .
It will need enabling thought ... So faultmate ( maybe autologic ) and IID tool when its released for the D4 G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

A few years back I put in the aftermarket LR bluetooth kit.
Now I've got the IID tool, what's involved in the installation of the factory kit ?
Clearly it needs a new bluetooth module, fibre connection to MoST and activation.
Is there a How to on this anywhere ??? There is no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes.

Hello GoBeyond:
I have also installed the aftermarket kit but looking now to fit the factory kit (D4 module). I have all the bits including MOST cable from Wiggs. I am considering purchasing an iidtool. Can you please confirm that bluetooth enabling can be performed with it. I will appreciate your feedback.

Bit late to this topic ...but this is what I have found with my MY10 with factory fit BT.
There are instances when the BT module does not appear when the car is unlocked... I have never managed to track this down other than it seems to be when the car has been 'asleep' for a long period (24hrs+)
If I lock the car again ...let it go to sleep & then unlock 'hey presto' BT there and phone connects as usual.
This seems very similar to what you guys are reporting. So I would suggest you try a few times to check if you have a BT module before assuming you don't
When summer comes I plan to check plugs on unit, just to make sure all are secure Cheers Ian

I just bought a 2010 D4 that does not have bluetooth module. Buttons on the steering wheel are there and all, just not the module.
We discovered this only when I picked up the car at the dealer. The dealer was as surprised as I was when my phone couldn't connect, and they found out there was no module in the car.
They offered to retrofit a bluetooth module and they did. Except... they can't get it to work. They worked on it for an entire day but they can't find the right settings. Bluetooth will connect with the phone once, and then after one call the bluetooth connection will fail.
Does anybody have a suggestion how to solve this?
