Hi All,
I have just received my Disco 3 and need help re the 2 towing conector plugs - one I believe is standard the other for accs. I need a wireing diagram to give the auto electric man to wire up a 12 pin caravan plug before going off around Australia - can anyone help.

Hello Ray,
Congrats on the new D3!
A competent sparky can identify the wires on the Black socket in a couple of minutes. The White one is some Pom spec for their vans and is foisted on the rest of the world because the blokes designing the vehicle do not realise that things may be done differently outside Mother England
I have had a heavy wire run from the battery via a Redarc battery isolator to the appropriate pin ( haven't got the pin info with me, but it is a standard in Oz) to charge the battery in my van. Indicators and lights are I think, wired to the normal (for this part of the Earth) pins, so you can ignore the white socket. I strongly recommend you stick with the Australian standard as it will avoid grief if you connect up another trailer!
Cheers,
Tony. Ex Defender 110 200Tdi owner.
