I have the Rasta carrier (having had a Big Country before) and got mine from Bearmach about 2 years ago.
They're good pieces of kit but IIRC they only had one or two in stock.I see no ships........

I have been trying to get stock out of Rasta for quite a while without success.
Have spoken to Bearmach and their retail price is £795 + VAT!!!
I have seen the Rasta one in Germany and was impressed with the quality and build of it.
Now if someone wants to lend me a Disco3/4 for a few weeks I know a firm which could make one

Yes please count me in, I'm urgently in the market for one. Just fitted a sliding floor complete with mobility scooter hoist and with the scooter in the back it's virtually impossible to get to the under slung spare wheel. What a place for access to the spare under the back row or seats in the HSE
Please keep me informed.
Thanks Keith

OK, it has been awhile but good things comes to those who wait!
Have managed to track down 3 off the Big Country ones suitable for Discovery 3s
When these are available in the UK they are normally well in excess of of a £1,000.
We can offer these for £850

Swing away wheel Carrier
A bit late in updating this post but got a Rasta in June from one of Bearmach distributors.
It is a great bit of kit. The installation instructions supplied were photocopies and a bit naff, could not understand the illustrations - too dark.
Emailed Rasta with request for something better. Got a reply in a couple of hours with PDF version in full colour - brilliant. Installation was easy. Anyone want a copy of the PDF please pm me and I'll forward a copy.Keith

Worth noting that if you do fit a rear spare wheel carrier it does affect the 'feel' of the car. There is a noticeable change to the handling. Once you are aware of it you get used to it but it is there and it does impact on the ride.
I would be interested to see if anyone else has noticed this.
Never noticed any change to handling or ride on mine The End

I didn't mention anything to my mechanic about it but when he returned the car after fitting my de cat pipe the second thing he said after being impressed by the difference the pipe made was that there was a noticeable impact on the 'balance' of the car - esp on our bumpy west yorkshite roads!
Maybe its also affected by my 265/70's and EAS tool raised suspension..

Had two different makes of rear wheel carrier - Big Country and now Rasta. Used both off road and on road at all speeds.
Absolutely no difference in feel or handling whether car loaded up or not.I see no ships........

Interesting that nobody else has noticed a difference, however it seem logical and inevitable to me that if you hang 40-50kg(??) of spare wheel that far further rearwards of it's normal [lower] location it is going to have some effect on the balance of the car. Not drastic and as I say probably accentuated by the lift and the larger tyres.
