Feels weird after 15k service |
|
Hello Folks
Just had my 15k service and I've noticed that the "feel" is a bit different to what it was before. I can't quite put my finger on it, but the handling feels a little bit more nervous ...and it seems to pick up bad road surfaces more than before. I noticed it even tends to pull a bit to the left on (even) very slight road cambers. The tyres all look ok and air pressure is good. Anyone noticed this kind of effect after a software revamp or should I have it checked out?
cheers

Sounds like you've just had the enhancement program performed on your D3. Opinion is pretty much divided equally on whether this is better or worse than before - I preferred mine the way it was, but there's nothing that can be done as LR just say it's now the way it's meant to be. IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
SA - 07 VW Golf TDI - White - Sold!

Stuart,
As part of the service they might have rotated your wheels , in doing so they might have mixed up the rotate direction of your tyres (this is of course if you have a directional patterns fitted) , also not sure if you are still on your first set of tyres (i.e. the ones that came with your disco) , but if they moved the back tyres to the front of the jeep , these might not have been balanced .
I would check all tyre pressures , check that all directional thread patterns are rolling the right way and go to my local tyre shop and have the two front wheels removed and balanced.

I've noticed this too but not post the enhancement.
Swapped my wheels over to 17's (got a good deal inc new tyres) from the 18's and the effect has all but gone away. Still there slightly.
I have a klunking under the front passenger side so am wondering if its anything related thats worn and is less noticeable with softer / grippier tyres.
At the dealer having some bits fixed and they are looking into it. Apparently they have had this reported before and will check suspension and steering column out.
