If it follows Apple's guidelines for Dock Connector support it should support it. The new nano has an off centre connector which is probably why it won't (physically) support it currently.
Think about it... the Universal Dock you can buy is adapted to work with all iPod's only by adding the correct dock adaptor that changes the size and shape of the surrounding plastic around the dock connector.
Software is not an issue as its the same at this level.
er... yep I aid that Si

TFC, if I were to nip out and buy an iPod now, apart from getting nicked for drink driving, what iPod should I be looking at to a) fit this kit and b) deal with 100+ albums of Lars Ulriksen and other metal epics?
Sorry, several ££££ of hi-fi and still haven't bought any form of MP3 player. Possibly because I have several ££££ of hi-fi. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Hmm, new IPod required so! So I assume the 30GB (cheapest) big ipod (5th gen) will work - oh why didn't I just pay the extra £50 then??
Does Nick have these in stock, or is there a wait? IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
SA - 07 VW Golf TDI - White - Sold!

Is it plastic or aluminium ? Would make it gen 1 / gen 2
Gen 2 has an offset dock connector which is probably why its not supported yet.
