That's another problem I do not have the radio controlson the steering. how Am I supposed to navigate?

The controls are standard on the 'S' spec vehicle and above. You've probably got the Settings Menu but no steering wheel controls... I have the inverse

I can't give an update on my testing of over 30 minutes delay... as my car is still at the Dealers (see other thread where they don't believe me).

Not heard anything yet apart from rumours that a software fix was in the works... not sure how accurate that is though. Until it ships we will have to wait and see.
At least my Settings Menu may be on its way (missing parts ordered) so I can at last drive myself silly getting the timer to work

Brian, do you know if the aftermarket setup will be independant of all the vehicle systems?
Will it overide the minimum temp for operation parameter? (about 5 or 6 degrees I think) If so, it will in theory be able to set the heater in the summer.
One of the frustrations of the car, is that none of us can check whether any update or action taken by Land Rover on the heater actually works, until the weather turns cold, which could be 3 months yet.

Guys don't get too excited just yet.
Untill it is fitted, not sure. But, it should be a full pre heater and heating system as in a normal truck, motorhome or 4x4. There is a vital component missing from the D3 to make the flaps etc open and close in the cars system. Webasto have been very good and I have worked with them for a couple of months now. The kit I have is from Webasto Germany.
Ultimately, I should be able to phone the car and switch on the heater from anywhere in the world. The only system I know that exists at the moment like that is located in Moores Hire Boats at Wroxam and Ian a director of the firm has shown me them when I visited.
The software rumoured from LR is not too clear on how it will work. Webasto can't work it out and they make the kit and have a man permanently in LR and Jag, which is the same unit by the way. If they have not supplied the additional item, they are bemused as to how it will operate.

In my previous car I had a GSM controlled fitted with Webasto and I was able to call or send a text message to car to start the Webasto immediately or at programmed time. The controller was also connected to alarm system so it would send me a message when the alarm was activated. There was also another GSM controller availabe that had integrated GPS to track the car.
Another nice feature of this device was its ability to measure battery voltage so that the Webasto would not drain it empty.
I hope that the one Webasto is developing is similar or can be connected to this device.

With Webasto you can switch the car heat on from Australia if your car is at the North Pole.
