I just talked to the Dealer closest to where I live regarding some work on my car.
They informed me that they charge 180 GBP per hour!!!!
How much is it where you service your car
Perhaps it is cheaper for me to go on a holiday in the UK and have it repaired at the same time Discovery 3 SE, TDV6 2005, Manual gearbox, Maya Gold with flat black vinyl, Locking rear E-diff, 7 seats

People in the UK have been known to have a short holiday with the money saved by going to a good independent garage. My indie charges £57 inc tax per hour, before any negotiation.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Shields in Glasgow did work for me at £85 p.h. when my alternator failed on NYs eve. Had it happened in London the rate would have been over £105 p.h. Both discounted for older vehicle.VR6 > 330D Touring > D3 HSE > !?XC90?!

never understood the 'discount for older vehicles' bit. Older vehicle, more corrosion, stiffer bolts and nuts, more difficult to fix....
Obviously younger vehicle owners are being ripped off and should point out that this 'older vehicle rate' is higher than they need to pay as their vehicle is easier to repair. Demand a discount below this!

Apparently it is £130+vat at LR Guy salmon, Thames Ditton and if your vehicle is of a certain age, i think more than 5 years old it is £96 per hour

I think the lower 'discounted' rate is to encourage owners of older vehicles to continue using a main dealer instead of drifting off to an independent.
