Hi I'm having a strange issue with my suspension. The car is going in on Monday for a diagnostic. I had a new compressor fitted 4 weeks ago all was fine then the dreaded normal height only error came on. The car is behaving strangely when I get out and lock the car the front on both sides drop quite quickly the back stays up. When I start it it tries to level then the suspension jerks then it tries again it takes 3 or 4 attempts before it levels. I park on a slight hill facing down if I drop the car to access height sometimes not always I get a red blinking light on the front wheel. Separate to that when driving and looking at the 4x4 screen the rear left bounces erratically and moves quite high and low. I've put the car in offroad switched off the ignition and had a good listen around the car. I noticed every minute or 2 air is vented from somewhere only a split second stops and does it again 2 mins later what would be causing the venting of air as I think this is why the front drops. Any info you can give would be appreciated thanks

Hi James
Welcome to the asylum
When new height sensors are fitted u req a diagnostics reader to re calibrate the system, as the suspensions ecu now doesn’t know what height the suspension is at
Did a garage do them for u or fit them yourself plse
With these vehicles getting ur own code reader is a good investment and pay for themselves very quickly , many of us use a gap iid which does virtually everything or a basic reader called an Autel AP200 which I believe also does height sensor calibration
Hope that helps

Suspension Failure
I am a fresh owner of a LR3, and so i am trying to understand the vehicle as best as i can.
So for some reason on the main display it would show that the suspension is in standard mode, despite the wheels level clearly not being lined up. Now the most confusing part is that it shows the suspension in offroad mode in special systems display. And no matter what it won't lower the suspension down and is apperently stuck in offroad mode.
I tried the turning on/off the engine, but it didn't change anything, couple of times i got it to start lowering , however in reality the suspension wouldn't budge a bit and stay in offroad mode.
I drove it over 40km/h and suspension won't lower it self even if i do 80km/h.
On monday i will be visting a mechanic, but i thought that some of you perhaps could point out a issue so atleast i know where to start looking for the issue.

Perhaps you have lift rods in your vehicle?

It might sound stupid, but is it bad to have them? (I am pretty new to it please forgive me for my lack of knownlage
Also thank you for the quick respond!
Edit.1
I checked and i have the rubber rod

Well, lift rods exist to tell the vehicle to be higher up than it would normally be. It is useful if you have larger than stock tires or need that 5-7 cm extra for clearance normally.

I do indeed have larger tires, and I have the original ones in the basement as a backup. So it can't be that.

Hello everybody (from France, sorry if there are mistakes in my English).
I'm having trouble fixing my suspension, I hope you can help...
It all started with a faulty code C1A20-64 (pressure increase too slow when filling reservoir)
So, I changed the reservoir, then the compressor, the 3 valves, and a rear left height sensor that was off.
I've made the suspension calibration, everything looks fine on the IID gap toll until it doesn't...
I still get the C1A20-64 code plus a C1A13-64 now.
The back of the car doesn't lower, even on valve test. However, when I deflate all, the car lowers completely. But... if I deflate corners, only the front lowers.
I've read all the post about this type of issue but there is so many that I get confused.
Any idea how to get to the bottom of it, and finally solve my problem?
Many thanks...

Did you fit a cheap aftermarket compressor or a genuine original AMK/Hitachi?yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

It is an aftermarket compressor (Hitachi version)

Well it appears there is an issue with the exhaust valve at the very least, and if it's a cheap copy of the original you might want to start there. You can monitor the performance of the compressor in "live values" for the suspension.
Every component is visible so it should be easy enough to see what's going on, but it does seem you'll either need to inspect/clean the exh valve or replace it. You may also have pressure loss but this too is visible in live values.
Compressor shut off is around 1760 kPa and this figure will drop immediately when the exh valve opens to around 100 kPa or a bit more!
If it's a cheap copy and you bought it recently you might want to return the compressor and buy the real thing! yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

All right, I'll start there then.
The gallery pressure increases normally to around 1200 kPa without any fault.
Then, it drops to 100 kPa and I get the amber light and the filling reservoir fault.
Maybe there is a leak in the pipe and/or connection to the reservoir...
Still, I'll put a genuine compressor and valves to see if it fixes at least the behavior of the rear axle.
I'll tell you how it goes when I'm done... the rear valve is a bit of **** to do.

1200 kPa is too low, this might be as a result of a leak and the compressor temp threshold has been reached!
Live values are your friend and learning how to interpret them will enable you to diagnose the problems instead of just throwing money at it!
Try and work out the issues first, or you can take screen shots of the live values and post them here!
After all, that's why you invested in the GAP tool! yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

All height sensors replaced - suspension not calibrating
I had a C1A07 Cross Articulation fault come up, I was too busy to look into it so dropped it into the local independent Land Rover specialist. They diagnosed erratic reading from front left hand height sensor and recommended replacement of all height sensors given the age of the vehicle (2008) as would make calibration easier. They used aftermarket sensors as could not readily source OEM or genuine. Two days in and they still can’t get the vehicle suspension to calibrate, currently suggesting it is the ‘quality’ of the aftermarket sensors or some other undiagnosed fault (live data they say is fine). Am I being taken for a ride? Should I just turn up with a GAP IID and go for calibrating the suspension? Views most welcome.
