Bluetooth connection packed up??? |
|
My N73 was working perfectly well until friday when I made a call with the phone handset having tried voice activation only to be told sorry a few times. I made the call with the handset and it showed on the radio facia "dialing". However no ringing tone could be heard through the car speakers. The phone when held to my ear was ringing out. I have checked the Bluetooth connection and I seem to have lost the car symbol and the B/Tooth icon on the handset has brackets around it. I tried deleting the pairing and repairing which seemed to work but it didn't automatically reconnect. When I manually tried to connect it, the phone said unable to connect. I then checked the phone menu on the D3 by pressing the phone button on the facia then pressing the menu button. This gives me a choice of cancel, phone book, call register and phone off. Pressing the phone button on the facia has no effect (Instructions as per page 107 in the sat nav and phone handbook) so assume this is for a phone connected by cradle.
Any ideas before I throw my phone as far as I possibly can?

I get this now I have changed to a HTC TyTn. My previous SE P990i worked fine and only failed a few times on bluetooth. Now the TyTn is failing many times. I reboot the phone, turn bluetooth off and on and then the connection is normally made. I have needed to stop the car, remove keys for 10 secs and start up again for the bluetooth connects up again. It is certainly more troublesome with my TyTn phone. Matt

Thanks Matt, at least there is an explaination for it suddenly coming back on line.
Won't tell the wife as she thinks I'm pretty clever for fixing it.

I've had trouble with various HTC phones and bluetooth. About 3 months ago I changed toa K800i (Sony Ericsson) and all has be well since. Just bought a P990 and I'm expecting all to work well too. Richard......

Has identical problem and semi fixed as mentioned. I have just updated the firmware for the N73 and to this point it has worked flawlessly.

As far as the N73 goes, you need to connect it to a PC via the PC suite software. From there it is just a case of following the instructions. Just make sure you back up ALL your data as it will be lost.
