Has anyone pointed out to your MD the "womb to tomb" cost of a Prius vs. most other cars? Yes, they run on batteries at low speeds, but the economy isn't that special due to the weight of the additional power source. Also, during the typical life of a car (estimated at 11 years between 3 or 4 owners), the batteries will need replacing twice. These batteries cost a lot of money to produce and even more money to dispose of.No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!

I bet he does motorway miles wher ethe benfits just aren't there....! Unless he only does 10 miles to work along slow traffic, you can tell him he's wasting his money. BUT it DOES have an image amongst the uninformed, that it is good for the environment........Bodsys Brake Bible

Then again, maybe he's got a proper car at home for real-world journeys, so his conscience is soothed by having a Prius on the drive. Some people down the road from me have a V8 Disco AND a Prius...No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!

I run 2 D3s & an Aygo, latter is great for where parking is tight and D3 is not practical. Also it gets 50+mpg without all the dual motors carp U get in a Prius and it's half the price to buy. As you can see, if anyone argues with the Aygo, he has two much bigger brothers! 8) 8)
Is that the car TG used in their football match?Loving the power of the TDV8!

Just going to watch and see for a couple of days, still not 100% about the long term prospect. Can't bl**dy decide what to do at all. Spent a fair while doing the maths on the running costs and the V8 will be around £200 per month more than a TDV6 with all factors considered . LPG quotes are around £3k and will void the engine warranty so that's no go.
If I get a price of around £30K+ I will let it go and then it's either a TDV6 SE or even considering a FL2 as that would save me even more. Don't need 7 seats and they are probably more than capable of a bit of laning.
