When do you take it for it's first service

My understanding is that the D3 should be first serviced at 15,000 miles.

Then I see odd references to a Service indicator. Do all D3s have this, including the 'S' model?

If so, should I wait for something to flash up on the dashboard - other than 'Low Coolant Level', or book the vehicle in as I've reached 15,000 miles and not seen any alert yet. What about the Warranty requiring the Service to be carried out at the required intervals.

Did I also see some reference to being able to find out when the car thought a Service was due?

Service at 15,000 and have them reset the service indicator... else it will appear a few miles after its serviced.

Then I was told to go back at 30K or if the service indicator comes on first. Told best to stick to every 15K miles unless service indicator says otherwise.

Dealer advice may vary of course but the service indicator is supposed to work. RR has had problems so maybe dealers are wary of trusting it.

The warranty says that you should get it done at the specified interval which is every 12 months or 15,000 miles (which ever you hit first). I'd stick with that whatever your dealer says so as not to risk invalidating the warranty

Just went over the 15,000 yesterday. Need to book it in quick before it reaches 16,000 and invalidates my warranty.

I'm sure there is no way they would find out. After all, how can they tell I drove it into a lake rather than through it?

The large amounts of rather sticky mud that are still stuck in all those places the hose won't reach might give it away Question Very Happy

I fail to see the concern, especially what farmers have taken into the dealers in the past in 90's to RR's. Just get there before the 16k, thats the bit they will wriggle over.

Some would say jealousy but I could not possibly comment...
