I was wondering if there is a cowl fix for the lr3 other than buying a new one and having that warp in a couple years? I read somewhere that some people put duct tape over the air intake to deflect water from coming in? Does anyone have any pics or a link on how to do this? I've been searching to no avail. Also is it recommended to put a silicone bead between the cowl and window to stop water ingress? I ask because my passenger side carpet is wet and it seems to be coming from bottom right in passenger side footwell. I checked ac tubes, sunroof tubes, did the a-pillar fix, the only thing I noticed was my cowl was lifting off my windshield on passenger side.

If you lift up the cover under wiper blades, there is the huge hole that lets water in to the heater box soaking the pollen filter through ! Look at top of hole if its same as uk spec there are 2 holes I got a 5 Ltr container and cut it up to make a L shape fixed it to the holes so it covers the hole and went under the windscreen ! That was leak one ? Next I found second leak ! Sun roof tube had been rodded to hard pulling it from it mounting in inner wing "only slightly" so it let water in car and out of car 50/50 so I fitted a home made pipe longer than original so it came down inner wing further I had this for 2yr if you take cover off under wipers buy new clips as they normally break always up to somert usualy no good acording to swmbo

Unnecessary quote removed
Do you have any pics or a diagram? I see the hole for the air pollen filter in the firewall under the cowl, do you mean cover the top portion of it (the rectangular cut out?) So if rains leaks past the cowl it will run off the makeshift cover I place over the top instead of trickling into the hole and hence my wet floor? Also can I use duct tape to frabicate/attach the top? Thanks.

When I did mine sorry didn't take picks ... 1 remove both wiper arms 2 pull up plastic trim to gain access to bulkhead below windscreen 3 you can now see the rectangular hole "if you remove pollen filter you can see straight through in to car" this is where water runs off screen then down the hole ! I just made a simple cover that fitted to the small holes at the top of the main rectangle hole just make sure it fits under the windscreen so water runs off screen over the cover and not down the hole I used a 10mm nut and bolt to fix it to the holes you could then put duct tape over it if you like , I didn't , didn't think it needed it always up to somert usualy no good acording to swmbo
